IPPY Award

I’m thrilled to announce The Artists of the Margaret River Region has won a gold IPPY award in the Non-fiction Australia/New Zealand category at the 2017 Independent Publisher Book Awards in New York City. As the author of The Artists of the Margaret River Region, I had the daunting task of interviewing and crafting the profiles of 80 artists from the Margaret River region. Please click on the cover below to enter a kaleidoscope of paint, ink, pencil, pastel, aerosols, timber, textiles, metal, glass, mixed media, collages, sculpture, art installations, clay, ceramics, collographs, etchings, jewellery, printmaking and photography.

Receiving recognition for my writing in my favourite city is indeed a humbling experience, especially as it’s the second time around. In 2014 Permanent Impressions: a salute to contemporary heroines was awarded a bronze in the Non-fiction Australia/New Zealand category. Here’s me below like a deer in headlights at the awards night in New York with my dear friend and publisher Carina Hoang, which made the night all the more special.
