The past few weeks have been quite a journey. I traversed the globe in 43 days from Perth to Qatar, New York, Philadelphia, Alabama, Memphis, back to New York then San Francisco and onto the Ubud Writer’s Festival in Bali. I’ve met many wonderful and inspiring people along the way and encountered overwhelming hospitality and generosity. I’ve been awe of astounding beauty, music and art. Hell, I’ve been to Graceland, walked in Jack Kerouac’s footsteps and I even had the “real” New York experience when our apartment was robbed.
My plans of blogging on the road flew out of an open-top bus as spending precious hours crafting words didn’t feel like a good use of time; especially when the chaos of New York or the beauty of Ubud beckoned. Perhaps some of you were following me on Facebook either on @carmenjenner or @fluffytowel? And besides, I had my entire office stolen in one foul swoop as they took our laptops, cameras, phones, headphones, kindle, an ipad and an assortment of other annoying things like all my business cards that were in my carry-on luggage which they also conveniently wheeled away. However, more of that later as there are many stories and photos I’d like to share over the next following weeks.
Happy travels, Carmen.
